The mild and cold month of January is behind us. Last month it was quite eventful at Holy Cross. On January 8 we came together in a good number for the 8th Annual New Year’s Brunch Buffet. We thank Michele Lazor who with my wife, Renata Cyman decorated beautifully our parish for that event. Michele Lazor did phone calls and thus brought many people for that event. We express our sincere thanks to those who cleaned the hall and kitchen after the event, gave any donations toward prizes for children, decorations and desserts. Children and Adults alike enjoyed the DJ entertainment and games along with the delicious dinner provided by Hughies Red Kettle, Union Blvd. Totowa.
On January 14, 2007 the Holy Cross Church welcomed into the Christian family Andrew Justin Ramos, son of Jose Anthony Ramos and Kimberly Robinson through the Sacrament of Baptism. We congratulate the Ramos and Robinson families on this special occasion. May the Lord bless Andrew with good health and happiness.
The life of the School of Christian Living in 2007 was enriched by two new students who joined the SOCL Level ONE namely Kiley Bartolozzi and Natalie Cyman. We wish them much happiness in learning about Jesus, His Church and the beauty of God’s creation. We congratulate parents of those lovely kids. Our SOCL program offers classes for students ages 3 through High School. Please join us and learn more about Christian way of life. In the month of January our Lord called following parishioners to his heavenly home: Arnold Studwell, Florence Rozell and Violet Suhok. We pray for the repose of their souls.
Last Sunday, February 4, 2007 we gathered together to Annual Parish Meeting. The resume of my report and some important decisions we have made at the meeting were sent in February Newsletter. I thank all those who gave reports for the meeting and served for the benefit of our parish family. At the beginning of the second month it is a great occasion to keep in mind our new year’s resolution. Do you still exercise more or watch your diet to keep your body in good shape? If yes, it is great. Similarly, we all need to remember about the good quality of our spiritual life. We need to remember about our daily prayer and Sunday’s liturgy of the Mass. I still remember beautiful words from last Sunday of January, the Scripture reading written by St. Paul was: love is patient, love is kind, it is not jealous. Well there are moments in my daily life and ministry when these words need to be implemented. More we think about the Scripture that we hear in the Church it is easier for us to cope with challenges we encounter. Therefore, please remember to attend Sunday liturgy for your spiritual benefit.
