The month of May was filled with several events and activities in our parish.
Through the month of May on Wednesdays we had May Devotions dedicated to the Blessed Virgin Mary, the Mother of our Savior. On Mother's Day, the School of Christian Living presented a wonderful program dedicated to all mothers acknowledging their love and sacrifices in upbringing the next generation in our society and in our Church. I would like to thank all teachers of the School of Christian Living Mrs. Penni Lazor, Mrs. June Pettegrew, Mrs. Michele Lazor and Mrs. Karen Paulison for preparing the children for the program and for serving as teachers of SOCL on a weekly basis. I thank all parents for their cooperation and bringing their loved ones to our church.
On the same Sunday, May 14, 06 the Sacrament of Baptism received Aubrey Jane Santos, daughter of Daniel Santos and Jamie (Vickerilla) Santos. We wish Aubrey and her family good health and abundant blessings from the Lord.
In June we will celebrate very important Solemnities. On Sunday June 4, 06 the Solemnity of Pentecost will remind us the time when the Holy Spirit descended upon the Apostles gathered with the Blessed Virgin Mary in the upper room. On Sunday June 11, 06 we will celebrate the Solemnity of Holy Trinity and we will recall the great mystery of our faith that One God has Three Divine Persons God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. And the third very important celebration will be held on Sunday June 18, 06 when the Church celebrates the Solemnity of the Body and Blood of Christ, known also as Corpus Christi. It reminds us about the real presence of the risen Lord in the Holy Eucharist.
In the month of June we are going to have social events such as Parish Picnic - June 11, Father's Day Breakfast - June 18 and Summer Time Supper - June 24. More information about these events is enclosed on the following pages of this newsletter. I wish that all parishioners and invited friends would enjoy these events, as important part of our parish's life.
We are preparing for the Tricky Tray on Friday October 27, 07 and 80th Anniversary Mass and Dinner on Sunday November 12. More information you will find in this and upcoming newsletters.
My Dear Parishioners, summer months are the most difficult to keep enough income to pay the expenses of our parish. Therefore, on behalf of the Parish Committee I ask all of you to donate or sent your regular donations to the parish including for Sunday(s) you will not be present.
During the summer months we are going to have Saturday Masses at 6:00 p.m. except June 24, 06 when we will have "Summer Time Supper" after 5:00 p.m. Mass. Summer time Masses are for your convenience to easier plan weekend and attend Holy Mass either on Saturday or on Sunday.
In the time of vacation and leisure we cannot forget to fulfill God's commandment "Keep holy the Sabbath Day." In fact, this is our privilege and our advantage to have the opportunity to keep alive our spiritual life in our pilgrimage to eternal life. Our Lord rose from the dead on Sunday and he wants us to meet his followers each Sunday and nourish us with his Word and his precious Body and Blood. As we cannot survive without daily food, we cannot live piously without spiritual nourishment.
"Christ is Risen! Indeed, he is Risen!
 Your's in Christ,
