On Sunday November 22, 2015, the Church celebrated the Solemnity of Christ the King. Our Holy Cross parish welcomed a new member through the Sacrament of Baptism administered to Maximus Liam Santos, son of William Santos and Samantha (nee Gonzalez). Proud godparents were Elias Feliz and Beverly Montes. We congratulate parents, godparents, family members, relatives and friends on this special occasion. The Sacrament of Baptism is the birth into the new life in Christ. Maximus became the member of the Christian family, a living stone of the Church which is the mystical body of our risen Lord, Jesus Christ.

Christmas Dinner and “Happy Birthday Jesus” Program

All Are Welcome to our annual Christmas Dinner and “Happy Birthday Jesus” Program presented by our School of Christian Living on Sunday, December 13th after 11AM Holy Mass (12:00 PM)

Dinner features Roasted Chicken / Tilapia with a mango sauce/chutney, Roasted Pork loin in a brown gravy, Corn, Broccoli Medley, Penne in a Vodka sauce, Haluszkie, Cake and Coffee, Tea

Santa Claus – (St. Nicholas) will be present.

Baptisms at Holy Cross

On Sunday November 8th Holy Cross parish witnessed two baptisms administered to two precious girls,

Jhyanna Emma Beato, daughter of Jose and Marjorie Beato; godparents were Andre Foster and Viviana Patino;

And Camryn Giavonna Colon, daughter of Cesar and Christina Colon; godparents were Carlos and Jessica Laabes.

The Sacrament of Baptism regenerated Jhyanna and Camryn as members of the Christian family, living stones of the Church which is the mystical body of our risen Lord, Jesus Christ. Congratulation to parents, godparents, family members and friends on this special occasion.

SOCL Halloween Party

Thank you to Mrs. Donna Maher, Ms. Rosa Llanos, our School of Christian Living teachers present for and all parents who brought their children for our Halloween Party plus anyone who made this event an enjoyable occasion. Donna M. donated pumpkins, Claire C. donated goodie bags. The children painted pumpkins, played the bean boozle game, participated in musical chairs. All in attendance chose the most original, prettiest and “coolest” costumes. All were winners by receiving trick or treat goodie bags. It was an enjoyable time!

Our successful “Hawaiian Luau” Tricky Tray event, the biggest annual fundraiser since 1982, took place on Friday, October 23, 2015 at Amalgamated Meat Cutters, 245 Paterson Ave., Little Falls NJ.

Our special thanks are expressed to those who: Donated Regular (112), Super Trays (86), Grand Trays (20), and Platinum Trays (new this year) (10); Gave monetary donations / participated in 50/50 Raffle; Served as captains, sold admission tickets; Did advertisement and solicitations; Picked up donations / numbered the trays for the program / Delivered trays and set up the hall on Friday; Sold tickets at the event; Served as runners / Served in the kitchen; Served as MC / Served as security guards; Cleaned the hall and kitchen after the event; and To anyone who in any shape or form helped to organize Tricky Tray 2015. On Sunday October 11, 2015 the Holy Cross Church witnessed a joyful celebration of the Sacrament of Baptism administered to Hannah Eileigh Joyce, daughter of Patrick Joyce and Jaclyn McDonald. Proud godparents were Joseph Joyce and Meagan Popa. We congratulate to parents, godparents, grandparents, relatives and friends on this special occasion. The words of Jesus were fulfilled: “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Matthew 28:18-20

The Sacrament of Baptism is the sacrament of Christian initiation; the birth into new life in Christ.

“A Hawaiian Luau” Tricky Tray to benefit Holy Cross parish will be held on Friday, October 23rd at Amalgamated Meat Cutters, 245 Paterson Ave., Little Falls NJ 07424. Wear your best Hawaiian outfit to win a prize.

Doors Open at 6pm and drawings begin at 8pm. There will be about 100 Regular Trays – $35 plus, about 100 Super Trays – $50 plus, about 25 Grand Trays – over $100, and about 5 Platinum Trays-over $200, HDTV, Keurig Coffee Maker; Thanksgiving Dinner for 10; Coach Purse; Scratch Offs; and other great prizes, win our 50/50 raffles. Door prizes / Special gifts for kids.

Admission is $15 in advance payable to: Holy Cross Church, 220 Browertown Rd., Woodland PK, NJ 07424. Admission includes coffee / tea and an array of desserts & 26 regular prize chances. A Week of Baptisms

On Sunday July 19th our parish witnessed four baptisms – two cousins and two sisters:

Arianna Vyktory Ketter; daughter of Darius Ketter and Dayana (Cafa) and Gerard Cafa; son of Cliff Ghazaii and Concetta Cafa. Proud godparents were: Rosario Cafa and Concetta Cafa, Erick Moran and Angelica Moran.

Athena Melany Galindo and Viviana Bella Galindo, daughters of Fernando and Jennifer Galindo (Torres). Proud godparents were: Ferdinand Valentin, Bertha Krapukaitis, Steven Pomales and Jacqueline Monroe.

Romeo Uriel Echevarria, son of Jessica Martinez and Isaac Echevarria and Natalya Selena Lopez, daughter of Elvys J. Lopez and Mayra Sarabia. Proud godparents were: Melvys Lopez, Carolina Lopez, Elvys Lopez and Mayra Sarabia.
