Dear Sunday School Families, Teachers and Friends,

Yay! We had such a wonderful day together on Sunday June 7th 🥳 We celebrated the Sunday in the octave of Corpus Christi, which is a super special day in the eight day period where we love, cheer for, and adore Jesus truly present in the Holy Eucharist! ❤️ It was so amazing to see everyone who joined our family at the 9 AM and 11 AM Sunday services!

Guess what? We have some super exciting news! 🎉 Right at the end of our Mass that Sunday, some awesome students received special certificates and gift cards! 🏆 They got these awards because they did a fantastic job coming to Sunday School all year long! Let’s give them a giant high-five for their excellent attendance! ✋✨ We also want to say a huge, happy THANK YOU to our incredible teachers, Ms. Natalie and Mr. Paul! 🌟 Thank you for sharing their big hearts, smiles, and awesome talents with us this year! And a big shout-out to all of our amazing parents, too! Thank you for bringing your children to Sunday School and helping them grow closer to Jesus every single week! You rock! 🙌🎈

Christmas Dinner

Our annual Christmas Dinner “With Santa” will be held Sunday, December 14th in the parish hall at Noon following the 11am Holy Mass.

This year’s menu (subject to change) includes baked salmon, roast pork, baked chicken, pasta, beef empanadas, potatoes, vegetables, salad, bread & rolls, and assorted desserts.

Adult tickets are $20, children 7-12 are $7, children under 6 are free. School of Christian Living children are also free.

Christmas Eve Holy Mass with Youth

On Christmas Eve at 4 pm we traditionally celebrated Holy Mass with our youth participation. They wear costumes of Mary, Joseph, shepherds, Three Kings, Angels and a Little Lamb. The youth served as altar servers, read the Holy Scriptures, and sang together with participants of the Mass the Silent Night with lighted candles.

We thank the youth, parents, School of Christian Living teachers, Ms. Natalie and Mr. Paul and all who helped to celebrate the Birth of Jesus in such a joyful and meaningful way.

Congratulations and Thanks – School of Christian Living

We wish to thank Ms. Natalie Lazar and Mr. Paul Murphy for their service as teachers in our parish, sharing their time and great talents for the spiritual benefits of our children. We thank all parents who bring their children to church and School of Christian Living classes.

This year the following students were eligible to receive awards:  Nicholas G., William E., Veronica M., Emma G. and Julia G. (received certificates last Sunday. Student, Valentine H. received her certificate at 9 am; other students will receive awards when they come to church at a later date – Jayden C., Tracey C. Daymar O., Jace H., Cataleya P. and Julian R. 

After summer, Sunday School will begin on Sunday, September 8th. We wish all children a safe and enjoyable summer as we continue our journey with Jesus in church.

Christmas Eve Nativity Pageant

Our annual Nativity Pageant took place during our Christmas Eve Holy Mass with youth participation. The children dressed in costumes to portray the Nativity: Mary, Joseph, Angles, Shepherds, Kings, and a Little Lamb. Families and friends enjoyed the Mass with beautiful Christmas music in the beautifully decorated church sanctuary and altar. We would like to thank the youth who participated in this annual special event and their parents who supported this activity, bringing children for practices. We thank Sunday School teachers Ms. Natalie and Mr. Paul for providing lessons to our children.  – Father Joseph and Deacon Bill

On Sunday, June 18th (on Father’s Day) we presented awards to youth who were involved and participated in Sunday School Classes and different projects. We thank teachers Mr. Paul Murphy and Ms. Natalie Lazar for their dedication to teach our children Sunday School lessons. Our dear youth helped the parish with preparations of Thanksgiving baskets, Christmas gifts for the elderly, and flowers for Veterans. They made beautiful gifts for Mothers and Fathers. They prayed during classes, read and studied Sunday School materials discovering the basics of our Christian faith and Christian values. We thank parents for their involvement and support. Sunday School classes will resume on Sunday, September 10th at 11 am. Here are names of youth who received awards:

In the last school year, children prepared Thanksgiving baskets, participated in the trip to feed the homeless in Paterson, prepared gifts for the elderly in Totowa, made post cards, prepared gifts for mothers and fathers, served as altar servers during our Holy Masses, and served as lectors.  We are grateful for their participation in these and other activities.  We especially wish to thank parents and guardians for their support and involvement.

May the Lord bless you all, keep you safe, healthy and a fun filled summer. Sunday school will begin again on Sunday Sept. 11, 2022.

Sunday School (SOCL) Christmas Donation

30 Christmas poinsettias and 30 baskets were delivered on Wednesday, December 8th to thirty residents living at Hinchliffe Manor, Paterson NJ. We thank Sunday School teachers Ms. Natalie and Mr. Paul for organizing this project, children who made personal ornaments, prepared Christmas cards, assembled baskets, and parents who supported this project for the benefit of the elderly. Job well done!
