The annual Crowning of the Blessed Virgin Mary by our School of Christian Living students took place on Sunday, May 5th. Thank you for honoring our Blessed Mother in such a special way.

Proud godparents were: William Fuentes and Ana Zavala We congratulate the Figueroa, and Zavala families as well as grandparents, family members and friends on this special occasion. The Sacrament of Baptism-Confirmation is the foundation of our Christian faith, is a gateway to new life in the Spirit, and the door that gives access to other sacraments. Through the Sacrament of Baptism-Confirmation we are regenerated and incorporated into Christ’s body – His Church.

God bless Milania Rose
Milania Rose Santos, was baptized on Palm Sunday, April 14th. The daughter of William Santos and Samantha (Gonzalez) Santos. Proud godparents were Elias Feliz and Beverly Montes. We congratulate Santos and Gonzalez families as well as grandparents and friends on this special occasion.
The Sacrament of Baptism is the foundation of our Christian faith, it is a gateway to life in the Spirit and the door that gives access to other sacraments. It regenerates us to a new life of grace, unites us with God, and makes us members of Christ’s Church. In baptism we are immersed into the life of Jesus – His death and resurrection. We welcome Milania as the newest member of our parish.

Annual Agape
Our Annual Agape (commemoration of the Last Super of Jesus with His Apostles) for NY/NJ Seniorate clergy and parishioners was held Sunday, April 7th in our parish. The clergy were represented by Fr. Sr. Gregory Mludzik, Fr. Marian Tarnowski, Fr. Edward Czudak, and Fr. Joseph Cyman, host Pastor. A group of parishioners from Dunellen, Bayonne, Wallington, Passaic and Holy Cross participated in reflection, prayers and the Agape meal. Fr. Joseph invited youth from Holy Cross, especially Confirmation Class students, to experience this annual prayerful celebration. The menu consisted of chicken, lamb, salmon, and rice, variety of salads, soft drinks, coffee and deserts. We thank all who prepared this program especially Renata Cyman, Penni Lazor, Zaida Bueno, Nelly Cabrejos, Hilal Hana and Family, Porcoro Family and Edward and Beverly Obssuth. We thank all those who came to be a part of commemoration of Jesus’ Last Supper. Thus deepened our personal relation with our Lord and Savior.
Sophie’s 100th Birthday
Our parishioner, Sophie Barnes, celebrated her 100th birthday with her family and friends on Sunday April 7th. Her date off birth was April 10m 1919.
Sophie remembers the time when the first Holy Cross Church was built in Paterson 93 years ago. She was a member of the parish choir for many years. We are grateful for her dedication to the church throughout the years. Having Sophie and her family celebrate her 100th Birthday with the parish will be fondly remembered. St. Patrick’s Luncheon Thank You
On Sunday March 17th, our parish hosted its annual St. Patrick’s Luncheon. During this event the green grab bags donated by Ed and Beverly Obssuth, Penni Lazor and Laurie Gaydos were part of the celebration. Ed with Dominick Porcoro and children were in charge of the drawing, giving us moments of laughter and fun. The drawings of the basket of cheer donated by Adoration Society and 50/50 took place at the end of our event. We thank Fr. David Gaydos and Laurie Gaydos for donating the food and preparing the menu consisting of Corned Beef, Cabbage, Irish Red Potatoes, Baked Chicken, a variety of Vegetables, Assorted Breads / Irish Soda Bread and Irish Coffee. We thank ladies who donated delicious Homemade Desserts. Edward and Beverly Obssuth, George O’Brien, and others helped in the kitchen; Renata Cyman, Penni Lazor, Beverly Obssuth and George O’Brien decorated the hall. We thank everyone for coming to our annual celebration. Happy St. Patrick’s Day to everyone!

St. Valentine Day Luncheon Thank You
Congratulations to the Adoration Society members consisting of Renata Cyman, Penni Lazor, Elaine Rotsaert, Nelly Cabrejos, Beverly Obssuth, Zaida Bueno, Fran Cuccinello, Natalie Lazar, and Susan Hornak and also Tracy Banta for a very successful St. Valentine Day luncheon held in our beautiful entertainment center. Also, congratulations and thank you to Andy’s Market & Catering of 694 Ocean Avenue, Jersey City, 201-434-6051 operated by our own Ed Obssuth for a job well done with their delicious selections of food which they donated in memory of deceased ANS members. We thank ladies who brought delicious desserts for all to enjoy.
