We thank the Prime Bishop for his celebration of Mass, preaching the Word of God and administering the Sacrament of Confirmation. We congratulate our new confirmands, their sponsors, family members and friends. I also thank Deacon Mark and Deacon Bill for helping me in preparing our students for this important sacrament.

The Sacrament of Confirmation is the sacrament through which we receive gifts of the Holy Spirit to make us soldiers of Christ, ready to profess our faith in word and deed. There are seven gifts of the Holy Spirit, wisdom, understanding, knowledge, counsel, strength, godliness and fear of the Lord. Confirmation imprints on our souls that sacramental character which gives us the strength needed to profess and defend our Christian faith. (Catechism PNCC)

The New confirmands were invited to participate in different ministries in our parish such as lectors, substitute teachers in our School of Christian Living, members of Adoration Society and other groups. God bless you all.

God Bless Josh

We congratulate Chirag and Aarti Taylor on the baptism of their precious son, Josh. Proud godparents were, Al and Jennifer Nurdjaja. The Sacrament of Baptism and later Confirmation is the foundation of our Christian faith, is a gateway to new life in the Spirit, and the door that gives access to other sacraments. Through the Sacrament of Baptism-Confirmation we are regenerated and incorporated into Christ’s body – His Church.

As God made the covenant with his people so through Baptism, Jesus makes a new and everlasting covenant with his followers. As Jesus won new life for us on the cross, with the symbol of the cross, David was marked to receive the new life in the Lord. As the waters of the Red Sea led the people of Israel to freedom so the water of Baptism gave new life and led to Salvation. Parents, godparents and all members of our parish pledge to help this child to grow in Christian faith.

St. Patrick’s Day Dinner

On Sunday, March 16th, our parish hosted its annual St. Patrick’s Luncheon. During this event the green grab bags donated by Ed and Beverly Obssuth were part of the celebration. Penni and Ed were in charge of the drawing, giving us moments of laughter and fun. The drawings of the basket of cheer donated by the Adoration Society and 50/50 took place at the end of our celebration. We thank those who came on Saturday and decorated the hall and prepared meals for St. Patrick’s Luncheon; David and Ed Obssuth, Jim Cimmino, Penni Lazor, Fran Cuccinello, Elaine Rotsaert, Stacey Banta, Marietta Erhardt and anyone who served, cleaned after and in any shape or form helped to organize this great social event.

Saint Patrick was a 5th-century Christian missionary and bishop in Ireland. Much of what is known about Saint Patrick comes from the Declaration, which was allegedly written by Patrick himself. It is believed that he was born in Roman Britain in the fourth century, into a wealthy Romano-British family. His father was a Christian deacon and his grandfather a priest. According to the Declaration, at the age of sixteen, he was kidnapped by Irish raiders and taken as a slave to Ireland.  It says that he spent six years there working as a shepherd and that during this time he found God. The Declaration says that God told Patrick to flee to the coast, where a ship would be waiting to take him home. After making his way home, Patrick went on to become a priest. According to tradition, Patrick returned to Ireland to convert the pagan Irish to Christianity. The Declaration says that he spent many years evangelizing in the northern half of Ireland and converted thousands. — per Wikipedia
